If I am asked to advise the most beautiful place in Russia, I think Siberia doesn't decline to shoulder a responsibility. This vast land is like a grand painting full of Russian style. Once upon a time, I went to the cold Siberia for work. The city of Irkutsk that time did not give me a good impression. But all changed when I went there again last year.

Irkutsk, the second largest city of Siberia area, is called "heart of Siberia". This city plays many roles such as the research base, penal colony, the city for rushing for gold and so on, in its about three hundred and fifty years history. It is near the Baikal Lake and is the distributing center for passenger transport and freight by the Siberia railway. There are also many important industry establishment and scientific research. The local people always say proudly,” you have never been to Siberia if you have never been to Irkutsk."

If Irkutsk is a heart, then the rivers run through it are its blood vessels. Angara River as its main artery goes through the city. Angara river goes from Baikal Lake and then forms a big lake bay called Irkutsk sea where there are mild climate and pleasing scenery. Here is a story: there is a huge stone in the exit of the water of Baikal Lake. Near the lake lived a brave man called Baikal with his beautiful daughter called Angara. Baikal loved her daughter very much, is also very strict with her. One day, Angara and a young man called Yenisei fell in love with each other, but Baikal did not allow that firmly. Angara had no choice but to leave home when her father was sleeping like a dog. After Baikal woke by a sudden, he threw the huge stone in order to turn back the way by which his daughter went.  Angara had been away from here many miles. The stone stands here from then on.

There is white snow every where for the season reason when I get here many years ago. The sunshine is warm and the river is calm when I come here another time. This river area is so wide that it deserves its reputation-the daughter of Baikal Lake, graceful and flowing. There are wild flowers all over near the lake in summer while there are red leaves all over in autumn. Here is a ideal place for the local people to have a holiday.
